If I had a PHD in therapy  to help folks vent and guide them to recovery my business would boom. Mothers have a gut intuitions but when it comes to a boyfriend or second marriage their gut goes out the window, they shut their eyes, they pretend and lie to themselves. Its only when their their kid starts to have emotional issues as a teen and adults that the mother kicks into mother bear. At least sometimes. In all the years I’ve been doing hair. I only know one hero who turned her husband into the cops for doing the sick thing to her daughter. In fact the police department commended her. They told her how many women shut their eyes to abuse and don’t press charges

I can write a book of the horrible stories teens and adults tell me in my chair about their step fathers verbally and emotionaly abusing them when their mom is not home. Same goes for step mothers. Now I’m not saying all step parents are horrible people. One thing I’ve noticed in my years of doing hair is that a man will care and pretend to love your kid that is until he is secure that he has you or when you have a child from him. He will play favoritism and mistreat the step kid behind your back. The biggest abuse is verbal bullying on the boys and getting too touching feeling with girls. Everything from..

1) Slapping
2) Pushing
3) Manipulation
4) Making ugly faces to the stepkid behind the mother’s back
5) Molestaion
6) You name it

I ask why can’t you tell your mom. Their response she won’t believe me and she always takes his or her side  I know  what It is to have lonely nights and look odd being single in a group of married friends. You look at me with pitty: “Oh she’s such a nice girl too bad she’s single something must be wrong with her. NO. Something is wrong with you for putting your child in danger for the sake of man. I’m not that thirsty.

I made one phone call to social services before. I cannot change the world. I’m not a super hero all I can do is listen and hope and pray that women  and men will develop more self esteem and stop letting step parents ruin their child’s life for the sake of love.

Makes you wonder why so many old people are dumped in homes and their children don’t visit them. Hummm did they shut their gut, close their eyes and not protect their children for the sake of love….so many unanswered questions.

Ps) Some of the abusers are in prison Rightly so. Whatever you do in the dark will be exposed in the light. You will be thrown in the lion’s den, in the prison world.
