I hear stories on top of stories on top of stories on a daily basis but there are some stories that you cannot shake off. My client just told me how her sister won a million dollar settlement. Her sister’s friend latched on to my client’s sister. Let’s just call my client’s sister Lola. Lola’s Friend used the grooming method you know they start pulling you away from your family and helped break up Lola’s marriq. She convinced Lola to sign everything to her name in case something happened to Lola. In no time she started to buy houses and going on crazy shopping sprees. Lola’s fake friend took off with the money never to be found. She could be in the Philippines hidding. Lola was left penniless and depressed having to rent a room from someone. She’s having to seek therapy to help cope with all that she’s lost. I’m affected by this story because I felt I knew Lola. I never met her in person but my client would always show me pictures of Lola and her husband during the good ol happy days. My client has been coming to me for about seventeen  years…and so for seventeen  years I would get an uodate on Lola. You get updates on your clients’ family they become part of the appointment you feel like you know them. My heart breaks for Lola. I hope that her fake scammer Friend gets stopped in her tracks before she preys on a another victim..sociopaths have no mercy, no conscious, no love. Just because people are not in prison for killing someone it doesn’t mean that that they are not dangerous.  Don’t be so trusting. Screen the new people you meet and don’t give your all to just anyone. Make people earn your trust and listen to your gut.
